Plate Rolling

Plate Rolling

It is a process where the steel is subject to a transformation through the pressure exerted by 3 or 4 rollers that change the natural flat structure into a circular one as needed; Before starting to roll the piece, it is preferable that the ends are pre-bent; however, at SAITSA we have machines that can start to roll the plate without having to do the pre-bending process.

At SAITSA all the rolling that is carried out is done cold, it is not necessary to heat the plate for its deformation.

Thicknesses to roll plate

  • 1/4 in. to 4″ thick in Carbon and Stainless Steel.
  • 1/4″ in up to 3″ in thickness in API 2H GR-50

diameters

  • Rolling diameters range from 24″ to 120″ or more

Industry Uses

Plate rolling is regularly part of a series of metal part assembly or assembly processes, so its finishing in perfect measurements is of great importance, as is its cutting and bending, since any variation in the material can damage the plate. the next process that is welding and in which the plate that is the result of rolling will now have a cylindrical shape.

It is used for the manufacture of tanks, cones, decanters, chimneys, channels, fastening elements for pipes, among others.
