Welding is the process in which the union of two materials is made, generally metals or thermoplastics, usually obtained through fusion, in which the elements are welded by melting both and adding a melted filler material (metal or plastic). This, when cooled, becomes a strong joint.
Welding can be done in different settings: outdoors, underwater and in space.
There are approximately forty different types of welds. Most welding is done manually, which requires skilled labor.
