lathe machining

Turnstile

Lathe is a machining process used to make cylindrical parts, in which the cutting tool moves linearly while the workpiece rotates. Commonly performed on a lathe, turning reduces the diameter of a workpiece, usually to a specified dimension, and gives the part a smooth finish. The lathe is used for grooving (making grooves in parts), for cutting, sanding and polishing

To carry out the turning it is necessary to fulfill the following steps:

Cutting time: it is the amount of time used for the cut piece to execute all the cuts that are required so that the final piece has the desired dimensions.

Cutting component change time: it is the time designated to carry out the cutting component change due to the fact that its useful life has exceeded or has simply come to an end.

Unloading or loading time: it is the amount of time used to place the item to be worked on the machine or lathe. In general, this time is defined by knowing the weight and dimensions of the piece as well as other qualities of the same

Idle time: any rest or additional time that may be generated when the turning is performed.

CAPABILITIES

We have 3 lathes for different volume measurements for the machining of parts

  • Turning of 12″ long of .70 mts
  • Turning of 32″ long of 3 meters
  • Turning of 36 "Flange up to 58" long of 1.70 meters

Industry Uses

Machining or turning is one of the most used and common machining processes. A large number of operations can be carried out such as grooving, internal and external threading, drilling, turning, facing, among others.
